analytical chemistry definition: branch of chemistry dealing with detection (qualitative) and determination (quantitative) of substances.
Chemistry, Analytic definition: The branch of chemistry dealing with detection (qualitative) and determination (quantitative) of substances. (Grant & Hackh's Chemical Dictionary, 5th ed)
Analytical Chemistry definition: The branch of chemistry that deals with the quantitative and qualitative identification of substances.
Cohort Studies definition: Studies in which subsets of a defined population are identified. These groups may or may not be exposed to factors hypothesized to influence the probability of the occurrence of a particular disease or other outcome. Cohorts are defined populations which, as a whole, are followed in an attempt to determine distinguishing subgroup characteristics.
COHORT ANALYTIC STUDY definition: Prospective investigation of the factors that might cause a disorder in which a cohort of individuals who do not have evidence of an outcome of interest but who are exposed to the putative cause are compared with a concurrent cohort who are also free of the outcome but not exposed to the putative cause. Both cohorts are then followed to compare the incidence of the outcome of interest.
Psychoanalytic Therapy definition: A form of psychiatric treatment, based on Freudian principles, which seeks to eliminate or diminish the undesirable effects of unconscious conflicts by making the patient aware of their existence, origin, and inappropriate expression in current emotions and behavior.
Chambers, Analytic Balance definition: Laboratory chambers designed to accommodate an analytical balance, isolated from the general laboratory environment and minimizing air drafts. These devices typically consist of a transparent plastic or glass chamber that facilitate the operation of an analytical balance by protecting it from the air flow and dust; preserving its accuracy even for very light weight measurements. Analytical balance chambers are frequently available as an integral part of the balance.
Balances, Electronic, Analytic definition: Electronic balances designed for weighing with a high degree of accuracy and precision. These balances typically have a weighing range of up to 200 g (some are capable of measuring up to 300 or 400 g), with a readability of 0.01 to 0.1 mg and a reproducibility of 0.1 mg or better. Analytic electronic balances usually include an integrated or separate weighing chamber, and some have motorized doors.
Balances, Mechanical, Analytic definition: Mechanical balances designed for weighing with a high degree of accuracy and precision. These balances typically have a weighing range of up to 200 g, with a readability of 0.01 to 0.1 mg. Analytic mechanical balances usually include an integrated weighing chamber.
Analytic Sample Preparation Methods definition: Use of various chemical separation and extraction methods, such as SOLID PHASE EXTRACTION; CHROMATOGRAPHY; and SUPERCRITICAL FLUID EXTRACTION; to prepare samples for analytical measurement of components.
caDNAcopy Analytic Service definition: Segments DNA copy number data using circular binary segmentation to detect regions with abnormal copy number.
caExpresso Analytic Service definition: The underlying Bioconductor routine.
caPROcess Analytic Service definition: Performs peak identification for a collection of SELDI-TOF protein mass spectrometry samples.
