Anesthesia, Caudal definition: Epidural anesthesia administered via the sacral canal.
inferior colliculus definition: rounded elevation on the dorsal surface of the midbrain, on either side of the median plane in the caudal part of the tectum, and containing the nucleus of the inferior colliculus; part of the auditory system.
Inferior Colliculi definition: The posterior pair of the quadrigeminal bodies which contain centers for auditory function.
Trigeminal Caudal Nucleus definition: The caudal portion of the nucleus of the spinal trigeminal tract (TRIGEMINAL NUCLEUS, SPINAL), a nucleus involved with pain and temperature sensation.
Anesthesia Kits, Caudal definition: Prepackaged collections (either custom or standard) of equipment and supplies for use in the injection of local anesthetic into the caudal portion of the epidural space through the sacral hiatus in order to anesthetize sacral and lower lumbar nerve roots.
Caudad definition: Backwards; in a direction toward the tail or posterior extremity of the body.
Caudal definition: Constituting or relating to a tail; situated near the tail.
COCCYGEAL VERTEBRA definition: Four vertebral segments positioned at the base of the spine that are fused. (NCI)
Coccygeal Vertebra definition: Four vertebral segments positioned at the base of the spine that are fused.
CDX2 Gene definition: This gene plays a role in transcriptional initiation, embryonic axial elongation and patterning.
Homeobox Protein CDX2 definition: Caudal Type Homeo Box Transcription Factor 2, encoded by the human CDX2 gene, is a homeodomain protein. This nuclear protein is involved in the transcriptional regulation of multiple genes expressed in the intestinal epithelium. It is important in broad range of functions from early differentiation to maintenance of the intestinal epithelial lining of both the small and large intestine. Phosphorylation of Ser-60 of this protein mediates the transactivation capacity. CDX3 binds an A/T-rich sequence in the insulin promoter and stimulate its transcription. Increased CDX2 mRNA is associated with chronic atrophic gastritis and expression of CDX2 may trigger the initiation and development of intestinal metaplasia. In contrast, markedly reduced or absent CDX2 expression is noted in most large cell minimally differentiated carcinomas. (From LocusLink, Swiss-Prot, OMIM and NCI)
INTRACAUDAL definition: Administration within the cauda equina. (FDA)
Intracaudal Route of Administration definition: Administration of a drug within the cauda equina.
embryonic caudal fin morphogenesis definition: The process, occurring in the embryo, by which the anatomical structures of the caudal fin are generated and organized. Morphogenesis pertains to the creation of form. The caudal fin is an unpaired medial fin mounted at the caudal end of the fish and is the main fin used for propulsion. [GOC:dgh]
post-embryonic caudal fin morphogenesis definition: The process, occurring after embryonic development, by which the anatomical structures of the caudal fin are generated and organized. Morphogenesis pertains to the creation of form. The caudal fin is an unpaired medial fin mounted at the caudal end of the fish and is the main fin used for propulsion. [GOC:dgh]

A caudal fin is an unpaired medial fin mounted at the caudal end of the fish, and is the main fin used for propulsion. [GOC:dgh]
caudal ganglionic eminence cell proliferation definition: The multiplication or reproduction of caudal ganglionic eminence cells, resulting in the expansion of a cell population. [GO_REF:0000021, GOC:cls, GOC:dgh, GOC:dph, GOC:jic, GOC:mtg_15jun06]
somite rostral/caudal axis specification definition: The establishment, maintenance and elaboration of the rostro-caudal axis of a somite, prior to the morphological formation of a somite boundary. [GOC:bf, PMID:16326386, PMID:17360776]
caudal fin development definition: The process whose specific outcome is the progression of the caudal fin over time, from its formation to the mature structure. [GOC:dgh]
