Hydrogen-Ion Concentration definition: The normality of a solution with respect to HYDROGEN ions; H+. It is related to acidity measurements in most cases by pH = log 1/2[1/(H+)], where (H+) is the hydrogen ion concentration in gram equivalents per liter of solution. (McGraw-Hill Dictionary of Scientific and Technical Terms, 6th ed)
Maximum Allowable Concentration definition: The maximum exposure to a biologically active physical or chemical agent that is allowed during an 8-hour period (a workday) in a population of workers, or during a 24-hour period in the general population, which does not appear to cause appreciable harm, whether immediate or delayed for any period, in the target population. (From Lewis Dictionary of Toxicology, 1st ed)
Osmolar Concentration definition: The concentration of osmotically active particles in solution expressed in terms of osmoles of solute per liter of solution. Osmolality is expressed in terms of osmoles of solute per kilogram of solvent.
Uterine Contraction definition: Contraction of the UTERINE MUSCLE.
uterine smooth muscle contraction definition: A process whereby force is generated within smooth muscle tissue, resulting in a change in muscle geometry. This process occurs in the uterus. Force generation involves a chemo-mechanical energy conversion step that is carried out by the actin/myosin complex activity, which generates force through ATP hydrolysis. The uterus is a muscular organ of the female mammal for containing and usually for nourishing the young during development prior to birth. [GOC:sl]
Attention Concentration definition: The act or process of concentrating, focusing the attention and mental energy on a single object to the exclusion of others.
Minimum Inhibitory Concentration definition:

Testing to measure the minimum concentration of the antibacterial agent in a given culture medium below which bacterial growth is not inhibited.
