Body Image definition: Individuals' personal concept of their bodies as objects in and bound by space, independently and apart from all other objects.
body image definition: internal, mental representation of one's body derived from internal sensations, emotions, fantasies, posture, experience with outside objects and people.
Image Enhancement definition: Improvement of the quality of a picture by various techniques, including computer processing, digital filtering, echocardiographic techniques, light and ultrastructural MICROSCOPY, fluorescence spectrometry and microscopy, scintigraphy, and in vitro image processing at the molecular level.

Image Interpretation, Computer-Assisted definition: Methods developed to aid in the interpretation of ultrasound, radiographic images, etc., for diagnosis of disease.
Optical Image Reconstruction definition: The process of generating an image from the raw data, or set of unprocessed measurements, made by an imaging system. (from AmershamHealth Medcyclopaedia)
image processing definition: imaging technique that enhances the imagery into a form that is more useful; may include inputting images into a computer and then processing the imagery.
Image Processing definition: The use of data processing systems to analyze, enhance, interpret or display digital images.
Image Intensifiers definition: Devices designed for brightening the screen image (i.e., intensifying) in fluoroscopic procedures, reducing the radiation dose needed. An image intensifier converts radiation to electrons, which in turn are accelerated and converted to light. These devices consist of metal or glass electron tube including a photocatode, accelerating electrodes, an input phosphor at one end, and an output phosphor at the other end. The amplification in brightness is proportional to the relation of the areas between the input and output phosphors. Image intensifiers are typically described in terms of their input phosphor diameter (e.g., 15, 30 cm). The output phosphor image is usually taken by a TV camera or CCD converter for processing and display in a fluoroscopic television system
Image Cytometry definition: A technique encompassing morphometry, densitometry, neural networks, and expert systems that has numerous clinical and research applications and is particularly useful in anatomic pathology for the study of malignant lesions. The most common current application of image cytometry is for DNA analysis, followed by quantitation of immunohistochemical staining.
Computer-Aided Detection Systems definition: Computerized systems that analyze digital information (typically digital images) to detect abnormalities; they may either digitize the original information or use information provided by digital systems. These systems typically consist of a digitizer or a means to import digital information, a computer capable of using appropriate algorithms, and a display and/or printer to show the detected abnormalities. Some systems may include archiving and/or communication capabilities.
Image Compression definition: Using coding methods, such as calculating the changes in a signal intensity, to minimize a series of images from DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING.
Diagnostic Image definition: Class for holding attributes unique to diagnostic images.
diagnostic image definition: Class for holding attributes unique to diagnostic images.
GIF Image definition: GIF is a popular format that is universally well supported. However GIF is patent encumbered and should therefore be used with caution.
G3Fax Image definition: This is recommended only for fax applications.
image definition:

Description: A characteristic representing a single file reference that contains two or more views of the same dosage form of the product; in most cases this should represent front and back views of the dosage form, but occasionally additional views might be needed in order to capture all of the important physical characteristics of the dosage form. Any imprint and/or symbol should be clearly identifiable, and the viewer should not normally need to rotate the image in order to read it. Images that are submitted with SPL should be included in the same directory as the SPL file.

Medical Image definition: Any record of a medical imaging event whether physical or electronic.
Image definition: Any record of an imaging event whether physical or electronic.
Integrated Molecular Analysis of Genomes and their Expression Consortium definition: A group formed in 1993 by four academic groups on a collaborative basis after informal discussions led to a common vision of how to achieve an important goal in the study of the human genome: the Integrated Molecular Analysis of Genomes and their Expression. They share high-quality, arrayed cDNA libraries and place sequence, map, and expression data on the clones in these arrays into the public domain. The human and mouse genomes were the first to be studied, and the collection now contains clones from rat, zebrafish, Fugu, Xenopus and rhesus macaque. They anticipate arraying (and sharing) cDNA libraries from additional species over time. A majority of their clones are publicly available, free of any royalties, and may be used by anyone agreeing with their guidelines.
Image Acquisition definition: The process by which an image is acquired or obtained.
Echocardiogram definition: An image of the heart produced by ultrasonography.
Image Acquired definition: Event of the acquisition of an image.
Image Feature definition: In image processing, a piece of information which is relevant for solving the computational task related to a certain application, either specific structures in the image itself (e.g., simple structures such as points or edges to more complex structures such as objects) or the result of a general neighborhood operation (feature extractor or feature detector) applied to the image.
Image Laterality definition: Laterality of (possibly paired) body part contained in an image.
Acquired Image definition: Image acquired during a specified event.
Image Processors definition: Devices designed to acquire and process an electronic image obtained from a separate source (e.g., camera, electronic system). These processors usually include an electronic unit that processes, stores, or transmits the input image and delivers it to peripheral devices (e.g., monitors, printers, workstations) and/or to other computerized systems for storage, retrieval, and/or processing. Dedicated image processors are available for still and video images; devices intended to process fluorescent and ultraviolet images are also available.
Image Registration definition: The process of transforming sets of image data from different times or perspectives into one coordinate system.
