Mastectomy, Modified Radical definition: Total mastectomy with axillary node dissection, but with preservation of the pectoral muscles.
modified radical mastectomy definition: (mas-TEK-toe-mee) Surgery for breast cancer in which the breast, some of the lymph nodes under the arm, the lining over the chest muscles, and sometimes part of the chest wall muscles are removed.
pectin definition: homosaccharidic polymer of sugar acids of fruit that forms gels with sugar at the proper pH.
Pectin definition: A polysaccharide in which a) galacturonic acid is a primary monomer (Polygalacturonan), b) L-rhamnose and D-galacturonic acid monomers alternate (Rhamnogalacturonan I), and c) various monosaccharides occur branched and complex (Rhamnogalacturonan II).
PEG-interleukin-2 definition: A complex of polyethylene glycol conjugated with human recombinant cytokine interleukin-2 (IL-2) with antineoplastic activity. PEG-interleukin-2 induces natural killer (NK) cell activity and the production of interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma), and enhances T cell-mediated cytotoxicity. Pegylation of IL-2 protects the cytokine from degradation. Check for "http://www.cancer.gov/Search/ClinicalTrialsLink.aspx?id=39577&idtype=1" active clinical trials or "http://www.cancer.gov/Search/ClinicalTrialsLink.aspx?id=39577&idtype=1&closed=1" closed clinical trials using this agent. Modified By definition: Indicates the person or authoritative body who changed an item.
Change definition: The act of alteration or modification; changed or altered in form or character.
Compomers definition: Composite materials composed of an ion-leachable glass embedded in a polymeric matrix. They differ from GLASS IONOMER CEMENTS in that partially silanized glass particles are used to provide a direct bond to the resin matrix and the matrix is primarily formed by a light-activated, radical polymerization reaction.
Carcinoembryonic Antigen Peptide 1-6D definition: A 9-residue human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-restricted fragment of carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA). Vaccination with carcinoembryonic antigen peptide 1-6D, which has the amino acid sequence YLSGANLNL, may elicit a cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) immune response against tumors expressing CEA.
