stereotaxis definition: (stair-ee-o-TAK-sis) Use of a computer and scanning devices to create three-dimensional pictures. This method can be used to direct a biopsy, external radiation, or the insertion of radiation implants.
Stereotaxis definition: A minimally-invasive form of surgical intervention which makes use of a three-dimensional frame of reference usually based on the Cartesian coordinate system, to locate small targets inside the body and to perform on them some action such as ablation (removal), biopsy, lesion, injection, stimulation, implantation, etc.
