Definition

enEnglish
Blood Pressure Monitors definition: Devices for continuously measuring and displaying the arterial blood pressure.
Peritoneal Dialysis, Continuous Ambulatory definition: Portable peritoneal dialysis using the continuous (24 hours a day, 7 days a week) presence of peritoneal dialysis solution in the peritoneal cavity except for periods of drainage and instillation of fresh solution.
continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis definition: portable peritoneal dialysis using the continuous (24 hours a day, 7 days a week) presence of peritoneal dialysis solution in the peritoneal cavity except for periods of drainage and instillation of fresh solution.
Analyzers, Laboratory, Clinical Chemistry, Automated, Continuous-Flow definition: Automated clinical chemistry laboratory analyzers in which the chemical reactions take place in a continuously flowing stream of fluid in such a way that each specimen in the batch passes through the same continuous path once they leave the sample carousel. Each specimen is also subjected to the same analytical reactions at the same rate as every other specimen. These analyzers usually include peristaltic pumps to maintain the movement of fluid, and photometric or ion-selective electrode methods for measuring the concentration of analytes.
Isaacs Syndrome definition: A rare neuromuscular disorder with onset usually in late childhood or early adulthood, characterized by intermittent or continuous widespread involuntary muscle contractions; FASCICULATION; hyporeflexia; MUSCLE CRAMP; MUSCLE WEAKNESS; HYPERHIDROSIS; TACHYCARDIA; and MYOKYMIA. Involvement of pharyngeal or laryngeal muscles may interfere with speech and breathing. The continuous motor activity persists during sleep and general anesthesia (distinguishing this condition from STIFF-PERSON SYNDROME). Familial and acquired (primarily autoimmune) forms have been reported. (From Ann NY Acad Sci 1998 May 13;841:482-496; Adams et al., Principles of Neurology, 6th ed, p1491)
VENTILATOR, CONTINUOUS, FACILITY USE definition: A continuous ventilator (respirator) is a device intended to mechanically control or assist patient breathing by delivering a predetermined percentage of oxygen in the breathing gas. Adult, pediatric, and neonatal ventilators are included in this generic type of device.
continuous infusion definition: The administration of a fluid into a blood vessel, usually over a prolonged period of time.
CATHETER, CONTINUOUS IRRIGATION definition: An introduction/drainage catheter is a device that is a flexible single or multilumen tube intended to be used to introduce nondrug fluids into body cavities other than blood vessels, drain fluids from body cavities, or evaluate certain physiologic conditions. Examples include irrigation and drainage catheters, pediatric catheters, peritoneal catheters (including dialysis), and other general surgical catheters. An introduction/drainage catheter accessory is intended to aid in the manipulation of or insertion of the device into the body. Examples of accessories include adaptors, connectors, and catheter needles.
CATHETER, CONTINUOUS FLUSH definition: A continuous flush catheter is an attachment to a catheter-transducer system that permits continuous intravascular flushing at a slow infusion rate for the purpose of eliminating clotting, back-leakage, and waveform damping.
ACCESSORY TO CONTINUOUS VENTILATOR (RESPIRATOR) definition: A continuous ventilator (respirator) is a device intended to mechanically control or assist patient breathing by delivering a predetermined percentage of oxygen in the breathing gas. Adult, pediatric, and neonatal ventilators are included in this generic type of device.

permanent definition: Étant donnée une matrice carrée n \times n, A = (a_{ij}), la somme \sum_{\sigma \in \mathfrak{S}_n} \prod_{i=1}^n a_{i\sigma(i)}.
