Tape Recording definition: Recording of information on magnetic or punched paper tape.
Video Recording definition: The storing or preserving of video signals for television to be played back later via a transmitter or receiver. Recordings may be made on magnetic tape or discs (VIDEODISC RECORDING).
Videodisc Recording definition: The storing of visual and usually sound signals on discs for later reproduction on a television screen or monitor.
Videotape Recording definition: Recording of visual and sometimes sound signals on magnetic tape.
Polysomnography definition: Simultaneous and continuous monitoring of several parameters during sleep to study normal and abnormal sleep. The study includes monitoring of brain waves, to assess sleep stages, and other physiological variables such as breathing, eye movements, and blood oxygen levels which exhibit a disrupted pattern with sleep disturbances.
polysomnography definition: simultaneous and continuous monitoring of relevant normal and abnormal physiological activity during sleep.
Esophageal pH Monitoring definition: Analysis of the HYDROGEN ION CONCENTRATION in the lumen of the ESOPHAGUS. It is used to record the pattern, frequency, and duration of GASTROESOPHAGEAL REFLUX.
CATHETER, ELECTRODE RECORDING, OR PROBE, ELECTRODE RECORDING definition: An electrode recording catheter or an electrode recording probe is a device used to detect an intracardiac electrocardiogram, or to detect cardiac output or left-to-right heart shunts. The device may be unipolar or multipolar for electrocardiogram detection, or may be a platinum-tipped catheter which senses the presence of a special indicator for cardiac output or left-to-right heart shunt determinations.
CYSTOMETER, ELECTRICAL RECORDING definition: A urodynamics measurement system is a device used to measure volume and pressure in the urinary bladder when it is filled through a catheter with carbon dioxide or water. The device controls the supply of carbon dioxide or water and may also record the electrical activity of the muscles associated with urination. The device system may include transducers, electronic signal conditioning and display equipment, a catheter withdrawal device to enable a urethral pressure profile to be obtained, and special catheters for urethral profilometry and electrodes for electromyography. This generic type of device includes the cystometric gas (carbon dioxide) device, the cystometric hydrualic device, and the electrical recording cystometer, but excludes any device that uses air to fill the bladder.
electronic recording system definition: method of producing a graphical record of a varying quantity or signal by controlling an electron beam with an electromagnetic field, as in a cathode-ray oscillograph.
