Definition

enEnglish
Contrast Sensitivity definition: The ability to detect sharp boundaries (stimuli) and to detect slight changes in luminance at regions without distinct contours. Psychophysical measurements of this visual function are used to evaluate visual acuity and to detect eye disease.
Dermatitis, Contact definition: A type of acute or chronic skin reaction in which sensitivity is manifested by reactivity to materials or substances coming in contact with the skin. It may involve allergic or non-allergic mechanisms.
contact dermatitis definition: type of acute or chronic skin reaction in which sensitivity is manifested by reactivity to materials or substances coming in contact with the skin; may involve allergic or non-allergic mechanisms.
Drug Screening Assays, Antitumor definition: Methods of investigating the effectiveness of anticancer cytotoxic drugs and biologic inhibitors. These include in vitro cell-kill models and cytostatic dye exclusion tests as well as in vivo measurement of tumor growth parameters in laboratory animals.
Hypesthesia definition: Absent or reduced sensitivity to cutaneous stimulation.
Hypoesthesia definition: Consisting of abnormally decreased sensitivity, particularly to touch.
Hypoesthesia definition: Impairment of tactile sensitivity manifesting as partial loss of sensitivity to sensory stimuli.
Radiation Tolerance definition: The ability of some cells or tissues to withstand ionizing radiation without serious injury. Tolerance depends on the species, cell type, and physical and chemical variables, including RADIATION-PROTECTIVE AGENTS and RADIATION-SENSITIZING AGENTS.
radiation sensitivity definition: use NONVISUAL PHOTOSENSITIVITY for general biosensitivity to visible and ultraviolet light.
Radiation Sensitivity definition: The ability of some cells or tissues to withstand ionizing radiation without serious injury. Tolerance depends on the species, cell type, and physical and chemical variables, including RADIATION-PROTECTIVE AGENTS and RADIATION-SENSITIZING AGENTS.
