Factor XIII definition: A fibrin-stabilizing plasma enzyme (TRANSGLUTAMINASES) that is activated by THROMBIN and CALCIUM to form FACTOR XIIIA. It is important for stabilizing the formation of the fibrin polymer (clot) which culminates the coagulation cascade.
fibrin stabilizing factor definition: fibrin-stabilizing plasma transglutaminase that is activated by thrombin and calcium to form factor XIIIa; important for stabilizing the formation of the fibrin polymer (clot) which culminates the coagulation cascade.
Factor XIII Deficiency definition: A deficiency of blood coagulation FACTOR XIII or fibrin stabilizing factor (FSF) that prevents blood clot formation and results in a clinical hemorrhagic diathesis.
SPLINT, ENDODONTIC STABILIZING definition: An endodontic stabilizing splint is a device made of a material, such as titanium, intended to be inserted through the root canal into the upper or lower jaw bone to stabilize a tooth.
Reagents, Hematology, Coagulation Factor XIII (Fibrin Stabilizing Factor) definition: Hematology reagents intended to perform qualitative and/or quantitative analyses on a body fluid sample (typically plasma) to determine coagulation factor XIII, a proenzyme that polymerizes fibrin monometers, enabling it to form firm clots. Factor XIII is involved in the common pathway of coagulation.

Nucleic Acids Research 28 (22), 15 Nov 2000

NMR experiments confirm the triplex-stabilizing properties of 8-aminoguanine and demonstrate that few changes are found in the structure of the triplex due to the presence of this modified base.

Robert Soliva et al.

Nucleic Acids Research 28 (22), 15 Nov 2000

Molecular dynamics and thermodynamic integration calculations suggested that 8-aminoadenine might be a triplex stabilizing molecule ( 31 – 33 ).

Robert Soliva et al.

Nucleic Acids Research 28 (22), 15 Nov 2000

Synthesis, incorporation into DNA and melting experiments demonstrated the strong triplex-stabilizing properties of 8-aminoadenine ( 31 – 33 ).

Robert Soliva et al.

Nucleic Acids Research 28 (22), 15 Nov 2000

It was suggested that the formation of an extra Hoogsteen H-bond (N8→O2), and the placement of the 8-amino group in the narrow and polar minor part of the major groove (mM groove) of the triplex were responsible for the stabilizing effect of 8-aminoadenine (Fig.
